What's new

This page lists changes you'll notice in the app. The most recent update is at the top. Each bullet is tagged so you can see at a glance whether it's something new, an improvement to existing behaviour, or a fix.

2026-06-12

  • Fixed — Clicking Cancel on a delete confirmation now actually cancels. For a period, pressing Cancel when asked to confirm deleting a client, a supervisee, or a note went ahead and deleted it anyway (only the keyboard's Escape key backed out safely). Cancel now does what it says.
  • Fixed — The client dropdown is back on the Client Quick Dashboard's New Note screen. A recent change had hidden it whenever a client was selected, so you couldn't switch clients or see the suggested order of who needs a note next. The dropdown now stays visible while you write a new note, and only locks to a fixed name when you're editing an existing saved note.
  • Fixed — The "No session" tick no longer carries over when you switch clients. If one client's most recent note was marked as a missed or cancelled session, selecting a different client could leave their fresh note with the "No session" box already ticked and the summary greyed out. Switching clients now always starts from a clean form.
  • Fixed — Ticking "No session" no longer throws away a summary you've already typed. If you tick it by accident, your text is kept and reappears when you untick the box.
  • Fixed — On phones, the Manage Supervision Notes list no longer runs off the side of the screen — it scrolls sideways neatly, the same way the main Manage Notes list already did.
  • Improved — Both vault-delete confirmations in Advanced → Danger Zone now use the same confirmation word, DELETE, and accept it in any capitalisation. On iPhone — where the keyboard auto-capitalises the first letter — the confirm button no longer gets stuck greyed-out when you type the word correctly.
  • Improved — On phones and tablets, the note fields capitalise the start of sentences again as you type. (Spellcheck stays off on these fields, as before, so your clinical text is never sent to the browser maker.)
  • Improved — More of the app now works offline and if the website is ever unreachable. Previously only pages you had already opened were saved for offline use; now the whole app — including Statistics, Export, and the spellchecker — is saved up front, so every screen keeps working from your installed copy.
  • Improved — Error messages now show in red, clearly distinct from amber warnings, and are announced to screen readers.
  • Improved — The note-template fields in Advanced → Defaults no longer use the browser's built-in spellcheck, matching the rest of the app — keeping that text out of the browser maker's spellcheck service.

  • Fixed — Downloading a local backup on iPhone now works no matter how large your vault has grown. Previously, once your vault passed a certain size, tapping "Download local backup" failed every time with a "Maximum call stack size exceeded" error. The automatic Drive backup from iPhone is fixed by the same change.
  • Fixed — On Windows Chrome and other installed (PWA) versions of the app, unlocking no longer breaks with a "Cannot reach Google Drive" banner if the app happens to update itself mid-unlock. The background auto-update now waits until you're past the Google sign-in step before refreshing the page.
  • Improved — The Help home page now has a prominent "Open the app" button at the top, so it's easier to jump back into the app after reading an article. The tagline at the top of every help page also reads "How to use the app".

2026-05-26

  • Improved — The "What's new" link is now on the build version chip in the header (the small "(D. xxxxxxxx)" next to the app name). Click it any time to see recent changes — it used to only appear when an update prompt was showing.
  • New — Beta access now uses one-time access codes. Invited testers visit a separate invite page (link shared by the operator), pass a quick security check, and get a unique code that unlocks their first vault. Each code only works once. The shared beta password still works for testers already in the beta, so nothing changes for you if you're already set up.
  • Improved — Clearer error messages on the Beta access page. An expired access code now shows the expiry date and a link to request a new one. A code that's already been used says so, with the same link. Previously all errors said "That access code is not recognised."

  • New — A "What's new" page in the help site listing recent changes to the app. The update banner now includes a "See what's new" link that opens it in a new tab.
  • New — When you're viewing a historic note in the Client Quick Dashboard, you can step through that client's other notes with "Previous note" and "Next note" links, or jump straight to the full list with "See other notes".
  • New — On the Manage Notes page, clicking a note now opens a slide-in side panel that previews the note's content, with Edit and Close buttons in the header. Lets you skim notes without losing your place in the list. Tap targets and safe-area layout tuned for iPhone.
  • New — A "Show ad-hoc" filter on the Supervision Manage Notes page so you can include or exclude ad-hoc supervision notes from the list.
  • Improved — The dashboard has been rebranded "Client Quick Dashboard" with a clearer heading for each mode — New Note, Editing Note, Viewing Note, and Exploring Notes. Buttons that don't apply to your current state are hidden, and the "Back to Dashboard" button is now a prominent blue primary button.
  • Improved — Clicking a note in Recent Notes shows a brief "Viewing note from \<date> at \<time>" toast so you know which note has loaded.
  • Improved — If your Google Drive sign-in has expired when you unlock the app, sync now retries automatically before showing a "Reconnect to Google Drive" dialog. The dialog stays open until you've successfully reconnected.

2026-05-24

  • New — A "Light", "Dark", and "System" theme option in Settings → Defaults → Appearance. "System" follows your operating-system dark-mode setting. Your choice is saved to your encrypted vault and syncs to your other devices.
  • Improved — The Ad-hoc switch is now a clearer "Switch to Ad-hoc" button (and "Exit Ad-hoc" when active), replacing the small inline checkbox that was easy to miss.
  • Improved — Clicking Cancel on a note form now shows a brief "Cleared" toast so you know the action took effect — useful when the Cancel button has scrolled out of view.

2026-05-23

  • Fixed — Spellcheck now works on iPhone, iPad, and when the app is installed as a home-screen app.
  • Fixed — On iPhone and iPad, tapping an autocomplete suggestion now reliably inserts it. Previously the suggestion list could vanish before the tap registered.
